Jazmine Kellmel - Media Artist

Who are you?

My name is Jazmine Kellmel and I am a third year student at St. Mary's College of Maryland. My major is Theatre, Film and Media Studies with a Studio Art minor.

Where are you from?

I am from St. Mary's County, however, I would not call it my home. Growing up I moved all over the country and even across the world. I have lived in South Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Maryland and Japan.

What do you like to do?

I really enjoy photography and have been trying to hone my skills and improve. I love just about every part of a photoshoot: drafting the concept, creating a mood board, clothing, hair, make-up, setting up the scene, modeling and finally shooting the pictures. I also like to read, draw, and watch movies.

Any goals and aspirations?

I am interested in film and media and finding meaning within art. I hope to learn more about digital art, design, film and photography. With more knowledge about design and digital mediums, I aspire to produce creative videos and photo series that share new perspectives on topics ranging from cultural to political to encourage open mindedness and the recognition that there is no one right view or perspective on life.
